The Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA), in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) and with support from the International Labour Organisation (ILO), is pleased to announce the launch of the 3rd Phase of the National Apprenticeship Programme in the hotel subsector.
This initiative is part of our commitment to empowering young people with skills, experience, and meaningful employment opportunities in Uganda’s hospitality industry.
Programme Overview
The Apprenticeship Programme is a structured, employment-based learning opportunity aimed at unemployed and underemployed youth. It offers practical training and work-readiness skills in line with the Uganda National Apprenticeship Framework (UNAF 2018), the Employment Act (2006), and the National Employment Policy of Uganda (2011).
Who Can Apply?
We invite applications from:

Youth aged 18 to 30
-
Individuals from refugee and host communities in Isingiro, Arua, Terego, and Madi-Okollo districts
-
Applicants with a minimum of O-Level (with at least 3 passes), or a National Junior Certificate in Catering, or DIT Level 1, or their equivalent
-
Those with a letter of good conduct from their Local Council representatives
-
Individuals committed to a full 12-month programme
-
Proficiency in English and hospitality experience are an added advantage (but not mandatory)
Women and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
