NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME OPPORTUNITIES

In 2018, Cabinet under Minute No.358 (ICT 2018), approved the Uganda National Apprenticeship Framework (UNAF) and directed the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) to urgently design and implement the National Apprenticeship Scheme in key sectors of the economy. Three partners MGLSD, Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA), and Uganda Hotel and Tourism Institute (UHTTI) with support from International Labour Organization  (ILO) will pilot the National Apprenticeship scheme starting with 100 apprenticeship in the Hotel sector.

Apparenticeship Program
Eligibility criteria:

UHOA would like to invite applications from interested candidates. To participate you must:
• Be interested in a career in the Hotel Industry.
• Be members of refugee or host community residing in either Isingiro, Arua, or Madi-Okollo districts.
• Completed at least Senior 4 (UCE)
• Present a letter of good conduct from your local council representatives.
• Be ready to commit to 12 months on the program.
• Proficiency in the English language and experience in the tourism industry is preferred but not essential.
• Women and People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

3. Pick hard copy forms from the Rhino and Nakivale settlement office or WhiteCastle hotel in Arua, Agip hotel in Mbarara or Nakivale Technical in Isingiro district, Flaminio vocational in Arua, and Inde Technical.
4. All application forms should be submitted to either White Castle hotel in Arua, Agip hotel in Mbarara, Nakivale Technical, Flaminio Vocational or Inde Technical schools, or send to email. uhoapprenticees@gmail.com
